Mazda CX-7 GT Black w/ Sand and Tech package
Hit the 1000 mile mark today. No problems so far and I hope that none will ever turn up. Now that the car is "breaking in" pretty nicely, hopefully the mpg will go up. Gas gets pretty expensive up here in New England. I asked my dealer about the under 2000 rpm service bulletin and he said my car didn't need it. However my vin is lower than what's on the bulletin so I'll bring that to his attention.

I did find out one new thing yesterday. Don't know if I read it here or on an Edmunds message board but someone complained about CD information not being displayed on the screen. Someone else said that only mp3 information will be displayed. Last night I put in a couple of cd's and the disc information was displayed. On the label of the cd one was "compact disc digitial audio" and the other was "compact disc digital audio text". Don't know if this is old news or everyone already knew about this. Just thought I'd point it out.

Congrats!!!

Yu let him know about the update because he should be doing it at your request. If not, then let Mazda USA Headquaters know about it.

However, before you go any further, check and see if the dealer put a sticker next the info on your door saying that it has been done.

Good luck, good wishes on your very wise choice of wheels.

The sticker is not necessarily a definitive indicator of whether it's been done or not. I had mine updated, notice a huge difference, and no sticker.

The dealer I bought my vehicle from balked when I asked for the update but I insisted I wanted it and then they told me they did in fact do the update (it was on the receipt as being done). I had a suspicion, though, that the update was not really done since I was noticing the hesitation and then the big kick-in of the turbo (and the shifting to 6th gear when going like 35-40mph around town).

Anyway, I decided to go to a different dealer in the area and asked for the update. Upon completion, the service advisor called me and said the tech had driven my car before the update and that there had been no flash update done by the other dealer. I wasn't happy to find that out to say the least.

I notice a huge difference since the update. I am 100% sure the update was not done prior to Wednesday of this week. The service department at the dealer I bought my car from flat out lied to me.

I would polietly let my dealer know how dissapointed you are. Dissapointed because you had to have the ECU updated at another dealer when you were told it was done. Polite but dissapointed is the way to go as they may turn out to be your best dealer.

Thanks for the advice!

I would rip them a new hole, and then write a very nasty letter to Mazda headquarters on how decietful they were! That is flat out rediculous!! What else are they saying that they did and are lying about?? This needs an investigation. I'm not saying be a full on ass about it, but i believe it needs to be taken very seriously!! The willful deceived you and that is not ok! I would never go back to this dealer again no matter how conveinent or good they were.
