Finally ordered my DH!!!! few questions.

Ok so first off should i download and install the lastest software for it when i get it?

Second, what is everyone monitering with theres?

not 100% sure but i think you gotta download the mazdaspeed specific stuff onto the unit then just plug it in and go. You should probably monitor boost, A/F Ratio, Oil Pressure, and then whatever else your thinking theres alot of options

As of right now you can't monitor oil pressure on a speed3 with the DH. I believe they are working on a solution through hawkeye (for which there is an EGT kit for the DH currently available.)
 
i just got my DH today too, and you should definitely dl the latest software. without it, you will not have access to seeing you AFR, and that's a really important parameter to log!
 
download new sofetware hell you might be able to do it now. and then all you have to do is plug it into computer and go with it youll alredy have all your paramaters ready. i moniter 4 pids boost, A/F actual, intake temp, and im monitering engine coolent temp but im going to change that over to boost temp. then i have a couple staged alerts to speed check engine light counts coolent temp.
 
Download version 2.4. I monitor boost, A/F ratio(Mazda specific), knock, and throttle postion.
 
I have the latest official release software...MSD is working on a 2.5 beta.
I monitor, vacuum/boost, AFRs, intake temp, boosted temp, engine coolant, ECU voltage, knock, spark, fuel pressure, TPS voltage, MAF voltage, and a few others; you have 10 screens to customize. Plus I set my DH as a RPM shift light, over 100 mph warning, and over 140 mph warning, over boost, and CEL warning/count.
 
Ok so is anyone updating it with vista? cause i downloaded 2.4 from the site and installed it. then i plugged in my DH and it wont recognize it??

I had to load the drivers from the CD that came with the DH for Vista. Used the downloaded software to run.
 
Thank you DK!! i ended up having to restart after i installed the software form there sight then restart then plug in the DH and let windows find the drivers then when it cant find them you have to find them for it like program files dashhawk drivers. but i got it workin!
 
Odd, I tried to browsing to the the driver directory in the dashhawk directory under PF first, and didn't find anything usable. Maybe because I am using the BETA software.
 
it should come up in the drop down menu. when you go to find the drivers. refer to that thread DK posted! that will get you through it haha its a pita i know but its worth it haha
