Finally got'em on!!!!

After about $100 in materials and 12 hours of labor, I finally finished those crapy MP3s I was suckered on. I just hope the finish holds up. Just one problem, now I am afraid to put the racing beat springs on because the ride is so much stiffer now. In WV our roads are crap and this is a daily driver. Any comments on those springs v. stock MP5 springs? Any comments would be appreciated.

Attached are some pics, plus a pic of my RPM at 78mph with the new wheels...

They are quite a bit stiffer than the stock springs. Do you know anyone with an MP3 or MSP you could drive? That's pretty much how it would feel...

Duuude - can't you read? He's in a van down by the river! :p Just kidding! :D

Lookin' good PR5Matt, by the way.

I think it looks pretty good..............i was born in Beckley WV.........just in case anyone was wondering(uhm)

So you powdercoated MP3 rims? Can't really tell fom the picture. Can you get some better pics of the wheels?

i have mp3 springs on my car the racing beat
the ride isn't as bad as i expected it. it is pretty decent.
the handling is much better than expected. i love it
it is only 1" lower on all four.
but, it looks stock. handles like a dream. i have been in some lowered cars and pro's and
the mp3 handles just as well

(i am not sure if you are talking about the springs or the wheels)

damn you might need an alignment if your camera was bouncing that bad at 75mph :) i took my hands off the wheel to scratch my balls and answer the cell phone at 90mph today with no probs lol.

MP3 springs are great. 27% stiffer than stock. Goes well with stock shocks.

Cornering is better and braking is much better in terms of car control.

You'll notice more bumps in the road depending on the pressures your tires are running.

One more vote in favor of the MP3/Racing Beat springs. Since you only drop about 3/4 to 7/8 of an inch, there's no need to be "careful going into driveways" and other such worries. Suspension geometry is still mostly within design limits, so there's no "having to live with" unusual tire wear, assuming you do get it re-aligned of course. Ride is very tolerable too. Of course, if you're after all out performance, there are stiffer/lower out there, but they come with more compromises, so it all depends on where you want to draw that line. :)
