finally I got my silver P5 last Saturday... Originally, I want a white one with 5sp, moonroof+6cd, abs+side airbag. But I can't get one...finally found a silver one....has all the things I want plus cargo tray, rear bumper guard, and wheel lock. but the dealer swapped the polished wheel from other P5 and removed the wheel lock as well(it doesn't include in the sticker, the dealer add 500 bucks as dealer installed option)... and the service dept. closed at noon on Sat... so I got the polished wheel for 2 days...also, the PDI guys were too busy and failed to clean all the glue on the car and there are some tiny scratches on the car...so I went to the dealer yesterday to swap the polished wheel back to the regular one and have them do the detailing again...got an extra key and wheel lock.
This is the first interesting thing .... they SWAPPED the wheels while other dealers don't do that..at least, I checked couple other dealers....they said " the polished wheel came with the car from Japan, we can't swap it.."
Here comes another thing.... at that dealer, all the p5 has the roof rack installed. I asked them to give me a set of the rail covers in case I would like to remove the roof rack. At beginning, the guy said the cars came with the roof rack...then I told him I saw other p5s at other dealers have NO roof rack on it..and they DO have covers... then the nice guy got me one set from their trash can....they thought that are trashes...they removed the cover, installed the roof rack, and threw the covers away...
Really enjoy the car....for only 5 days...put 350 miles on it and got 27.8 MPG for 70% highway and 30% city travel
couple "feelings" about the car..
1. static..got "shocked" every time I left the car..
2. sometimes I can't get in reverse gear very easily
3. the position of 2nd and 4th gear is too close to the armrest..
4. for me, the power is ok
5. the clutch is kind of soft..easy to "handle"
That's about it..... I do believe I will enjoy the car for next couple years...
btw, should I have the first oil change at 1000 miles? two things I wanna do on the car is 1. K&N drop-in filter and 2. kartboy short shift/bushing...any suggestions?
