I love how my life works. I tracked the wheels this morning before work and got that they were scheduled for deilvery.
I roll into work and am chillin' outside the car, playing some w0 Nirvana Mix, drinking coffee, smoking a Camel and my manager comes whipping into the lot. Nothing out of the ordinary. Well, he makes this move like he is playing that he will hit my car. However on a very slick and wet blacktop, he doesn't really recover from this little 'fake out' move. Needless to say, he careens into my baby. I was freaking balistic.
He gets out and is telling me that he is sooo sorry, etc., and I basically tell him not to talk to me for a while. We both kind of cool off and I get the car into the garage so I can assess the damage. The damn driver's door is so out of whack that it won't close.
So I leave it be for a while and start my day. About 10AM, UPS rolls in with some tires and 4 boxes from Rota.
So now there is a glimmer of happiness to my day. I went ahead and put the wheels on. I had waited for them for 2 months so damn if they were gonna sit on the shelf while the car is getting fixed. I love them. I wish that they had remembered to send me center caps, but those are on the way. The black lug nuts look cool on them too.
So without further ado, here are the pics of the damage, followed by some of the wheels on the "good" side of the car.
The door was so tweaked that I had to remove the bottom hinge compeltely so that it would latch only halfway.
Rota Goodness. These are the 17x7.5 Subzeros in Royal Black with a polished lip.
48mm offset keeps things just the way I like them. Almost flush with room to drop the car. Tires are 225/45ZR17 BFG G-Force Sports (a nice improvement over the 205/50R17 Goodyear RS-As that came on the car)
Rear shot
So there you have it. I dig the wheels, the car will be fixed, no one was hurt so I guess I am lucky to an extent. I also found out that I was the employee of the month for the region (Carolinas) in February.
