Finally got it!

Well I finally took the plunge and got my ms3! I've spent months reading the forums and could not wait till I could finally pick her up. Here she is after a fresh wash and wax.

Looking to do just a few mods more then likely starting with a Cobb SRI and possibly a BOV. Not totally sure though for the simple fact as to I am not totally sure how Mazda is with mods and warranties. In any case i'm just happy to finally have her.

Mazda is a b**** with warranties. If you have an intake or something, and you need warranty work, turn it back to stock!
I wouldnt get a BOV, venting to atmosphere isnt good with MAF cars.

I initially wanted to get the white but it was next to impossible to find one. But after I saw this in the sun I was happy I went with the gray. There were tons of red and black to choose from though lol.

Also wondering if there are any guys around the Tampa, Fl. area on here? I rarely see many MS3 cruising about so just curious. This forum seems alot friendlier then the last one I was on lol.

It was between gray and white with me. Visually, I like white better, but after having this car for 2 weeks and already getting about 3 rock chips on the hood, bumper and left fender (which also consists of a small ding), if I had to do it again, I would probably have gotten the gray. Only because chips show up really clearly on a white car, since it looks like Mazda used a black primer or coating on the steel on this car. Doesn't hide too well under white. Time for me to spend $695 on a clear bra because with as much as I drive (about 25k a year), my car's front end with be completely black inside of a few years. (pissed)

Damn look at that chip free front end!

Give it a month and it will look like s***, lol. From a few feet back my Black Mica looks nice but up close there are so many chips, it sux.

I used to live in Tampa. I'm down in Sarasota now. I have had mine for about 2.5 weeks and haven't seen another MS3 on the road yet! Neways, congrats(2thumbs)

How about before you mod your car, try to talk to local dealerships to see which one's ok with modded cars.

I'm in the Town and Country area myself. I have seen only 1 other speed so far since my purchase.

I also talked to some of the service techs at my local dealer who have speed 3's. Seems like they are trying to break the code for the Australian ECU flash. Apparently it puts out 400hp down under, but I think its the MPS extreme they were referring too. Anyone else heard about this?

The MPS extreme was tuned with the Xede and was a promo car for a Mazda dealership down there.

Do the service techs with speed3's seem cool with mods up there. I haven't really talked to the dealer in bradenton where I bought the car, but I'd make the trip to Tampa for service if it lets me play around a little(drive2)

Well I drive out to Wesley Chapel to deal with them. I asked them and they said they were cool with mods. The head guy told me to just keep my stock stuff just in case I need to have any warranty work done. Worth the drive to me.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I loved the Accessport on WRX, and would like to get it for the Speed, provided that the new maps give better results for people. I don't have much bigger plans for mods yet besides the AP, Cobb SRI, and maybe a better BPV, if needed, but I would be pissed if I ran into warranty problems with my local dealers. I guess I should talk to them first.
