Finally finished! 2002 yes '02 P5

i believe he's from houston and is sponserd by a dealership, Tweeter did the stereo work, I remember someone talking about a car with those same mods, if not, then yougota twin in houston, lol

While I understand the whole why spend the extra money theory I am on the side of getting a car and modding it instead of just getting a more expensive car. The reason is that I want my car to be different which is something that only modding and customizing would do. Don't get me wrong if I had the money all at once then I would more than likely get the more expensive car like the sti but you can be garunteed that I would be modding it before long. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though... still one of the nicest cars I have seen. All around that is.

f*ck money dude, that is the f*ckin greatest p5 i have ever seen in my life. i gave you made respect for the creativity man.

GOD that is sweet

Thanks for the positive comments! Hey Ben...Let's start at $33K and add the LSD, the Clutch, the full repaint (it's a 2002 model), the seats, THANK GOD FOR SPONSORS! BUT...MY HANDS ARE DIRTY TOO SO DON"T DISCOUNT THE EFFORT! The car is committed to make appearances so that the sponsors benefit. The car won't see the road again until May!! I have a regret...I painted the car B4 hearing that Laser Blue ('01 MP3) would be a stock P5 Color in '03! I'm in Houston. Ben, we've met at HIN DFW. Glad to hear from you again. And, regarding my own money? MOTORCYCLES!!

I think I just s*** in my pants. That is one of the nicest p5 or any car for that matter Ive seen in a long time. (bluep5)

Absolutly stunning! Kinda depressing, makes my car's audio install look plain in comparison. And I dropped 4k, no sponsors here! :( wahhhhhhhh! :(
But major props for your car man, it's litterally the most impressive Protege I've ever laid my eyes on...ever!

*hehe, no matter what you do and how cool you think your car is, there's always someone out there that has you outdone. Waaaayyy outdone. :)

I just saw this car at the Nashville International Auto show. It was locked up and you couldn't see anything inside it. The guy there representing Mazda also said that this car isn't privately owned, that some dealers got together and built it.

Ben, we've met at HIN DFW. Glad to hear from you again.
Oh, that's you! It's good to hear from you too. It is nice to have sponsors. Do you know what I really respect about you guys that work directly with a manufacturer like Mazda and get the BIG bucks to mod a car like that? Most of you don't enter them into competitions. It would give the little guys like me absolutely no chance. I thought that was really cool of the guy from Mazdaformance not to enter. I forgot his name, I thing it was Shawn. I have no respect for people like Kenny Tran that have everything given to them, the enter their cars into competitions, it's just unfair to the rest of us.

Anyway, I'm sure you have read all about what has happened to my car since the show. I've had nothing but bad luck. I'm selling the turbo kit, rebuilding my motor, but I'm not sure if I want to start from scratch again. Anyway, the car looks really good. Definetely the best looking and most highly modified P5 in North America. Hell, maybe even the world.

Oh, hold on a minute. Is that Steve's midnight blue P5? I know you were saying that it was going to you after he's done with it. Did you cryo the block like you wanted? All I have to say is damn, I'm impressed. Good work.

Absolutely impressive! I have been dreaming up ideas and concepts for my P5 for some time, and your project has surpassed my dreams. Well done!

A little more information...

Hey ya'll. Big Ben and Pirana are right on target, this is a 2002 that Steve showed in '01 and '02. The car is not a dealer effort. Shawn built the black 4-door for Mazdaformance. I've taken the Pro5 and moved forward with the mods. I did get 50% of the mods sponsored and the other 50% at a discounted price. I am lucky. I WOULD NEVER, NEVER, EVER even think of entering competitions since this is not all my money BUT the car, in this state, is all my effort and a lot of my sweat! Yes...you are talking to the guy who built the car and has the spare keys in my pocket. Mazda, specifically Steve, is going to show the car in a LOT OF AUTOSHOWS so you might get to see it soon and per the sponsors: "buy some of their stuff"!

Future mods for the P5

Big Ben, I will Cryo the entire engine, install con rods, do head work, cryo the trans guts, upgrade the half shafts, install a huge turbo and try for the kind of power that is in this 2.0. Reliable and drivable should be up to 375. This will be AFTER the auto show season and my obligations to the sponsors. Stealth is what I'm after. And again, my brother will do the Cryo work so I can afford the project. I'll keep you all in the loop as the 2nd stage comes together.

HELP

I need some help. Can you all suggest what I do with 11 sponsor stickers. I have two sets of 11. They are all reproduced in a silver color and all the same height. Most people stack them on the leading edge of the front doors but I really want to do something more creative.

Got suggestions?
