I've been waiting to get one of these to test drive for a while, but I wasn't expecting one to be dropped off today! I'm not going to go over all of the details that you probably already know (like that the car is f#@$ing fast as all hell and grips like Super Glue), but I was totally amazed at how comfortable and easy to drive the car is. The carbon fiber seats don't look very comfy, but I could seriously drive it on a daily basis and not need a chiropractor. The clutch is baby smooth, too; firm and linear engagement. Torque is abundant at all RPMs, and the engine, although only having a piece of plexiglass between your head and the supercharger, is suprizingly smooth and and you can actually hold a conversation while driving.

$150,000 and worth every penny. I'm just glad that I had a BMX 645Ci waiting to be taken home to smooth out the transition back to the Speed... slightly.

good luck getting one for $150k...i hear theyre jackin the prices up as high as possible while still being able to sell them

yeah, my local ford dealer wouldn't let me keep it overnight

Again, how the hell do you get to drive one of these??? Let us in on your secret.

Ha, no secret. I work in the "media", mainly automotive television, so the manufactures like to keep us happy by dropping cars off all the time. Half the time I get no-so-exciting stuff, but every once in a while I get an Evo, Z, RX-8, etc. The Ford GT was a nice little surprize, though. Up until now, the fastest car was was a toss up between a C6 Corvette or a Mercedes CL55 AMG. That Benz could move!

Autoweek??? Motorweek??? Car and Driver TV??? I watch all those shoes and, as much as I enjoy them, I'm always gritting my teeth, jealous I couldn't be making a living doing what those guys do! Guess you're one of em so... congrats! or something... you friggin prick! LOL j/k so yeah... you can tell us which 'media' company you work for...

Also, that god damn A pillar is HUGE!! was it a problem while driving?

agreed.... never thought I'd say this but I'd actually seriously consider a ford for my next vehicle. (mustang of course... though, I'm actually diggin the 500 as well) My boss would have to give me a 6000% pay increase in order for me to consider the GT. probably best that way since I'd undoubtedly cause some damage with that monster

Actually a lesser known Blue Sky Productions. We produce Autoline Detroit that airs on WDIV-TV4 in Detroit and on Speed Channel.

Well, let's just say that half the car is a blind spot. The front wasn't really that bad, but forget about backing it up in a tight spot!

Growing up in an all-GM family, it's hard to like anything Ford, but I will say that they are getting better. The Ford GT is a extreme and I can't really consider that a typical Ford specimen, but even the Mach 1 was a decent car. I haven't been in a Focus SVT yet, but a mechanic-friend told me that they are pretty decent (he drive's an Acura RSX-S and it's hard for him to say something like that).
