Finally A Recall

Today I got a recall notice in the mail about Engine mount #4 which is what failed on my car. Wondered if anyone else got one.

It was recalling ALL MAZDASPEED3s with build dates between June 28, 2006 THROUGH May 19, 2007.

I believe that covers EVERYONE on this forum so I suggest immediate response.

Figured I would pass the word, Goodluck to all I wish my car would have held on till now......

Got mine today as well. Thanks to everyone on the forum and elsewhere for speaking up about this issue. Mazda actually came through quicker than I thought they would to make this right.

Yeah Im actually pretty surpised, someone must have gottin hurt or it really started to cost them too much money, bastards should have made it right the first time, or checked mine when I asked them to, but neither worked out. Oh well I hope everyone has better luck... (boom04)

being that its a replacement of a single bolt (and i think it said something about grinding some rubber off the mount..)

It should take about 10 minutes....unless your engine has already fallen out

the book calls for an hour if its just the bolt, and 2 if the mount has to be replaced...

i ordered 2 bolts form Tiff at showcase mazda. Try her gru !

i got my letter yesterday as well... my service manager ordered the part last friday and i'm hoping to get it taken care of this week. eileen and i are going to have fun this weekend! i can't wait to finally launch her.

I got the letter a few days after I had the repair done. I also had to wait a freaking week before they got me an appointment. Ridiculous!! Every shift I kept waiting for my engine to drop. Anyway, they took the car for the whole day...didn't mind though, as they took me to and picked me up from work.

Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE NO. 4 LEFT SIDE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT MAY LOOSEN IF A SUDDEN RAPID ACCELERATION IS REPEATEDLY PERFORMED.
Consequence:
IF THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUOUSLY DRIVEN UNDER SUCH CONDITION, THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT BOLT MAY LOOSEN AND PULL OUT OR BREAK, ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO BE OUT OF POSITION. IN EXTREME CASES, THE DRIVE SHAFT MAY BECOME DETACHED. IF THIS OCCURS THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND WILL COME TO A STOP, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT BOLT WITH A MODIFIED ONE, AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT RUBBER AND BRACKET WITH NEW ONES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT JULY 13, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MAZDA AT 800-222-5500 .

I called a local Mazdaspeed dealer on Monday, they got me in Wednesday morning, they were finished with the car by lunchtime. It was a pleasant experience.

Just had mine done on Monday. Took them about 2 hours. They just replaced the bolt according to invoice.

i was given a Friday 4pm appointment. Apparently they closed at 5pm, they wouldnt let me drive away with a car so they sent me home with a loaner car. I have to pay $5 a day for 3 days cause they have to keep my car over the weekend cause they're closing already. It sucked to be away from my car, but they gave me a ford taurus which is so good with the bumps and it's quiet. My gf likes it a lot compare to my car cause i cant speed up with it easily. hehehe. But she complains that it takes us long to get to our destination. She loves the ms3 deep in her heart she just doesnt know it. hehe. I put an after market rear motor mount on it and that didnt void my warranty. So if u have aftermarket rear mount. dont be scarred go right ahead and get that side mount replaced of fixed.
