Filled Torn Motor Mounts, Now its seems the power steering pump has gone out

I've recently started working on a 2003 P5 I just bought. It had torn motor mounts all around, so I filled the front, pass, and driver for now, leaving the big rear mount job for a little later on. The mounts turned out awesome, and I noticed a big improvement in the car on the first drive. However, when I started it up and took it on a test drive, I noticed a new belt squeal that wasn't there when I drove the car last. I got home to find PS fluid all around the reservoir, foaming out of it, almost like it is way overfilled.

I feel like I can in point the squealing I'm hearing to the PS pump, possibly a bearing gone bad. Do you guys think the new motor mounts have anything to do with this (engine slightly crooked in the bay?) or is it just coincidence that I fixed the mounts and the PS pump went out at the same time?

I'm picking up a used pump at the dismantler this weekend, so hopefully that resolves the problem, but if anyone has any other opinions or solutions, I'm all ears!

You have to squeeze the passenger side mount right in there around the PS hoses and reservoir. It's very possible that one of them got bumped or disturbed in a way that caused a leak. It's also very possible that it's just a coincidence. You'll have to investigate further to find out.

If the pump went south, you'll want to install an inline filter if you can, since it probably put a lot of trash in the system.

it may have been going bad with those bad mounts knocking it all over and when you stiffened them up with new filler it did it in.

Unlikely. The only thing that might go wrong now is your axles being at a different angle. But even that is kind of unlikely to.cause a problem. Bad ps pump not a really big deal to change.

if the mounts were bad for long it could have caused the pump to be jostled too much and break something internally, however it is more likely a coincidence

Maybe. But the pump body and its spindle are firmly attached to the motor. Unless there was a tweak created in the direction of rotation its pretty unlikely the motor moving would have caused it damage.
I suppose anything is possible.
