Few CX-9 Issues I have as new owner

:
2008 CX-9 Grand Touring
I just joined the forum last week & I've owned my CX-9 for less than a month & have noticed a few things that don't work smooth.

1) The door don't auto lock always. I have to stay for a couple seconds upon closing the door to make sure the 1st beep can be heard (which is not always) then I know the car will auto lock. What is the point of that? I might as well start walking as I closing the door & press on my keyless. Kinda of pointless to have auto lock unless you hands r completely occupied, which mine were 2 days ago & it still didn't lock?

2) Memory seats keep on getting erased from inside & key fobs. I am a electrical engineer & think its possibly a programming error (could be wrong).

3) Just last night my rear vents started blowing air when I turned my key to OFF position (there should be nothing operating in this mode except for headlights & hazzards).

I know quite a few of you had all of these problems. Anyone know if they can be fixed? I have the bump-bump warranty. I'd appreciate it.

Just so we're clear you have a used CX-9? Your Sig shows an 08. If it's an 08 then you may have the relay issue that causes the HVAC to malfunction after turning the car off. There is a discussion in this forum about the TSB and fix. Here's one of the discussions: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...en-key-is-turned-off.../page2&highlight=relay

The other two issues I'm not so sure about. I have a 2010 and the memory seats work fine. I don't have the auto lock feature enabled on the 9 but the same feature on my 6 is a bit unreliable I believe it's due to the proximity sensors and timeouts that are programmed into the system. It also gets a bit confused if certain doors don't close within a particular timeout period (for instance a passenger who is slower than you at closing the door)or if you open the trunk before getting out. I think much of this is either due to bugs in the system and requirements to prevent car-jacking and such. But I can't be sure. Do you have the credit card fobs or the newer fobs?

As Antonio said, (3) is a known relay issue.
I have autolock, and actually mine was too sensitive. Sometimes, I don't want it locked (says in my garage),
I had to "jump" away to avoid the beep. I must say that either the battery is low or the sensor inside the door
is not "sensitive".
For (2), I have memory seats w/o the problem you mentioned. Check battery connectors. Your electronic system
might be losing power occasionally. I am an EE/Computer professional myself.

Thanks Ceric & Antonio. I have the credit card key fobs. I will be taking the car to the dealer to have them look at it. I really hope the memory seat issue gets fixed since this was 1 of the reasons we went w/ the GT model. I would've really liked to have the T model w/ the 18" rims due to softer ride plus the features from GT but were quite hard to find. Please inform me of any other issues that might not seem to show as of yet but might transpire later so I can get it fixed before the warranty expires. Thank you again.

You could just buy some nice aftermarket 18 or 19 inch aluminum wheels for pretty cheap with a 60 or 55 profile tire, respectively.

Funny I don't find our GTs ride harsh at all. I did replace the oem bridgestones with some Toyota proxes st2s so they may have mellowed the ride a bit. OTOH I've always preferred a tight ride.

True helbigtw but not looking to have any expenses as of right now. Just enjoying it the way it is. Still can't believe I have a ride w/ 20" rims!

Well its not really harsh but it def. noisy when I go over pumps. Its expected when ever there is less cushion between the edge of rim to the end of tire wall. My bro has a 2010 4-Runner w/ twice as much cushioning for air in the tires & his ride is very smooth, soft & less noisy. Just my observation. No complaints, just mentioning what I notice.
