Fender Rolling Advice?

at least you used the search function so i cant rag on you for bringing back another dead thread. try calling so local wheel shops i dont trust myself to do it...

how do you know when you've heated it up just right? will it be hot to the touch or something? do you heat it up directly on the paint side, or back behind the fender? thanks!

just pic a hot day take a baseball bat put the skinny end up there and roll the car forward itll take care of it all.

or why do you need the fendersrooled? you buy rims yet? just buy the right offset and you dont have to worry about it.

i did just buy rims. they're 17's, with 205/40's. they dont stick out bad at all, but when i hit a bump, or have people in the back, it rubs. thanks for the help everyone.

bringin this back from the dead #2.
it is a stupid, yet simple question, hopefully i can get a couple of answers from some heads.

i need to roll my backs and after somehow stumbling upon this thread while looking for something about tires, i now know that i can do this myself! wow thats crazy, and im gonna try it.

anyway, my question: you say do it on a hot day, and i am in AZ now, where the average temp is 105. is that warm enough ya think? and my car is about 3 years old, do i have to really worry about paint chip. lemme know.

thanks in advance.

That's plenty warm enough, but still won't guarantee that you won't chip/crack. It also depends on how much you need to roll it... if it is more than just a little bit, I wouldn't recommend it.

i was in your position. i wasnt sure if i should roll my fenders or what. a friend suggested coilover/spring booster. they make them in metal or rubber. and they sit within your spring. depending on how bad your rubbing is, they come in two sizes. but the great part is, is that they're like 4 bucks at Advanced Auto. i gave them a try and it killed the rubbing, but raised the backend like a half an inch. (you cant really tell). so try that if worst comes to worst.

well i actually have a coil over setup, so i can fix that on my own if i wanted.
as for the rubbing its just a little when i hit a dip on the freeway or something, or if i have people in the back. but it wears down my tires after enough driving on them, so i want to roll them just a little to end that.
