eh

for your car or someone elses?

it would be for mine. and in regards to bryan's comment, thats pretty much what i'd want it for. i like having the tape deck in conjunction with the cd player and the double din size factor as well as being mp3 capable.

i'm one of the few people left on earth that thinks that a subwoofer in a car is a loud and pointless waste of space so the preouts for an amp or sub don't mean anything to me. the internal amp that would boost the speakers i have in the car would be fine for me.

eh, ill disagree with you there, Captain. i think a nice, small, but adaquetly powered sub will enhance the music. i enjoyed my little 8" off the 250w amp, until it blew.
but i know you and i know thats not your thing.

dude, let the tape player die. its ancient technology. its like keeping the 8 track around. we have CD burning technology now. If you seriously still listen to tapes, consider converting them to CD. please?

all in all, it will probably sound much like the stock system. If you like the looks, go for it. but like i said eariler, i really dont like how it looks. :)

no, its not my thing :) i'll leave that to matt and aric.

as for the tape player, i have many a tapes that would take quite a bit of time for me to convert. chalk part ot that up to laziness :) another reason I keep it around is for using it as an auxillary input via tape deck adapter. its easy to slip the cassette adapter in and it works better than any FM modulator I've played around with.

and yea, i could just use the aux inputs on the back of the HU, but again, i like just having the deck there and the ease of use. don't forget....gotta be dbl din for me as well - **** plastic trays and scosche kits :D

cosmetically it doesn't do one thing for me one way or the other. but in terms of power - 45x4 - its not mind blowing, which for me is fine, but certainly alot better than the stock HU, which i think is something like 22x4 at best? sir nuke posted that a whileeeeee back...

i am not using the stock speakers btw, so i would think it would have to sound just a tad better.

i almost bought a 79 cadillac with an indash 8 track and CB radio. 90,000 miles and perfect interior/engine/exterior. $1800 and I passed. * shoots self *

i bet you could get the stock MSP HU for dirt cheap around these boards, and just, um... carry an old boombox around for them tapes

that way you can enjoy your ghetto fantastic moldy old tape technology with the best of 1980's portable music engineering

:D

* raises shields * i think the stock msp headunit is, uh, gross to be polite :)

plus you forget, i don't want no single din + tray piece cluttering up my dash

i dunno man, maybe you should look for some more double din tape players, this one would just look out of place in your car in my opinion.

i told bryan i would probably end up with a setup like his and i think this angered him a little.
