Factory XM?????

Now before you go telling me, I know that mazda's use Sirius as factory radios.

But

I use XM and aside from waiting for the merger and getting a new hybrid radio, I'd like to know if anyone has considered the possibility of taking a factory XM radio say from a GM or any other OEM and putting it in place of the Sirius unit.

from the checking around, the units have the same setup, in-line connectors, antenna connector, standard power connectors, etc. The only difference would be the actual connectors from the factory Sirius receiver would have to be spliced to the wiring of the XM receiver.

In theory this should work but I wanted to see what other people thought or see if anyone else has tried this.

I'd really like to see my XM info on my main stereo display instead of looking at a separate mini display....

let me know what you guys think

It's also likely that you were need specific firmware on the satellite receiver to talk to the HU.
