Well, I am not sure is anyone else has had or heard of a problem with the Radio presets and lack of sound output but I am having this problem so I thought I would bring up the subject in case someone else runs into it later.
The problem description is a little strange but I will attempt to describe it anyway....
The problem is that the 3 of the 6 radio presets do not make any sound when the button is pressed. It does not matter if I am on FM1, FM2 or AM.
The radio will change to the station and display normally but it is like the sound is muted, no audio at all.
The weird part is that if you then use the tuner to search to the next frequency higher (104.1 to 104.3 and back to 104.1 for example) and then search back to the station, it will then play normally. If you search to the next lower frequency and back, (104.1 to 103.9 and back to 104.1 for example) it will still not play. Not until the sequence above is performed again.
The same effect is seen when the steering wheel controls are used.
My problem started a few weeks after I picked up the car, it was intermittent at first but has since become a continuous problem. For the first few weeks turning off the key for 30 seconds or so would return the behavior to normal.
To cut to the chase, I scanned for codes, found none, took the car back to the dealer, they looked it up by the VIN number and said there were no recalls on the car. They checked out the car and ended up ordering me a replacement radio.
I will be taking it back next week for the replacement.
Anyone else have an experience with the Radio acting up? (other than the cold weather recall that is known about)
