Hey there  ,

Does anyone know of good places to order factory mazda parts from? Price is a big issue as always. I just hit a deer after 6k but thankfully the insurance gave me over $5k to fix it so Iam ordering as much aftermarket as possible but stuff like fenders and aprons have to come from Mazda.

Go Wahoos!

I am not sure but for those big items I would think that getting them at a LOCAL mazda dealer would be your best bet as shipping would probable eat up any savings from a dealer that isn't in your state or near enough for you to pick them up from.

Yes Sir

I think that would happen too,

although I hate paying double their cost. I called around the mid atlantic region and the prices do differ significantly dealer to dealer. maybe i'll do what i did when i bought the car - call up the dealership that I deal twith on the purchase and tell them to match the price on the lowest price I found. when they realized what exactly they sold me last time they weren't too happy with the price they gave me. If the dealer ever asks you: "Who gave you the invoice?" tell him it's the other dealership you're dealing with. They won't respond with: " uuhhh, edmunds and Cons Report's numbers are wrong !!!! ur dumb and we will give you the shaft - so bend over"

Haha

U should ve seen the sales manager's face the day I picked up my car (after s/else purchased the blue one on the lot for 3k more)

I don't understand. why are you parting it out? you had insurance didn't you? how come they aren't fixing it for you?

parting out '02 protege5

yeah.... regarding the Insurance.... They said the car was a 'total loss', so I bought it from the insurance as a 'salvaged' car.

And Now Im trying to sell the whole thing, or just Part-it-Out..

As for injuries... I hit the metal gaurd rail on the freeway.. really... really hard... and think im lucky I walked away from the accident... just had some bruises from the seat belt, burns from the air bag, and a bruised knee from the fallen steering column. Oh yeah im also glad i didn't have any passengers, or hit anyone else!

Happy Zooming Peoples!

Reuben.

hi reubenrivas...how much in your mind for tail lights?

and i am glad you are ok...and that makes us a little ease because our cars ain't that bad after a total loss accident
:)

Glad to see that you are ok.

I don't understand something though...I've seen so many Protege's after accidents w/ their steering column like that after an accident. If anyone ever remembers CoPartFinder.com, they used to have pics of totalled cars up for free viewing...there were many Protege's w/ their steering column fallen down. I wonder if it's the way it was designed, or some lousy connection somewhere in the steering column.
