Factory Clutch in the P5

Just wondering how all you guys clutches are holding up? Mine is pretty crappy, it holds good in all gears, but if I lay on it and try to snatch a good second, it will not spin the tires for its life unless I am turning or it is raining. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this type of behavior from their P5. I wish Centerforce made a dual friction for the P5. I have one in my ranger and that sucker wont let go. Just wondering though.
Thanks,
Mike

Spinning the tires in 2nd gear has to do with your engine's torque rather than your clutch. I don't think the P5 has enough torque to spin up in 2nd unless you rev it to 4k RPM then dump the clutch in 2nd gear (torque peak on the 2.0 liter motor occurs at 3k). Maybe then it will spin up the tires. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it unless you just want to shorten the life of your clutch.

My clutch is just fine at 17K, but then, that's no big surprise - I've put over 150K on original clutches in 3 or 4 different cars.

If my tires spun (even in the rain) I'd buy some better tires ;)

I lose traction in when shifting from 1st to 2nd.

Then again ive had my car since may 2001 and its gone over 30 000 kms.

So the engine is pretty healthy.

Umm, actually the peak torque happens at 4000 rpm, not 3000...
