Yesterday I was at my friend Julio's house just deciding what to do. So we decided to go get something to drink, as we were approaching my car my friend I heard my friend yell "What the HELL!" not knowing what was going on I looked at my speed and saw a big ass ******* HOLE, pardon my french, in my back windshield!!! The hole is huge i could of probably put my head through that thing. Then as i looked at the upper right hand corner there was another hole, about the size of a quater.:mad:
I know it had to be some little punk hater! I heard a bunch of modded up cars passing by but thought nothing of it.

OK, so does anyone have any advice, my insurance deductable is, get this, $999. Does anyone think my dealer may be willin to help me out. Or should I just go to a glass repair place, and cry about the price. Well thanks in advance for any advice and i'll post pics as soon as i learn how to.

Mazda won't do anything, I'm sure.

What I would do is leave El Paso, and possibly move down the road to Las Cruces, NM.

I had my entire windshield replaced on my Tercel for about $300, done in two hours, at a professional auto glass shop (Advanced Auto Glass, i think it was). You can probably find someone who does it for the same price.

That deductible is ridiculously high. Shop around for better insurance. And if you mean "warranty" when you say "help you out", I think you can forget that notion. Warranties almost never cover random acts of God, wear and tear, etc.

Well it's unfortunate in the world we live in today... but that sucks. My sympathies.

Good God that sucks! I dont know what to tell you on the price, but when you do get it repaired... before you let anyone sit in your backseat.. VACUUM THE HELL OUT OF IT! You will find glass in your car from now until you get rid of it if you dont. I had something like that happen to one of my older cars. I'm sorry man.

side note: You guys' stories are making me want to get one of those pager alarm systems..

Just so yo know that your deductible is MUCH lower than the cost of the rear glass. Phone Mazda and price out the glass.

It is probably the most expensive piece on the car!

Pay the deductible and get the OEM glass!

Don't mess around wiht glass. Nothing but problems in the future, guaranteed.

nono, hater = civic owners, i have some friends who own other hondas, namely preludes and stuff, they dont hate other cars, but appreciate them, but i've never seen a nice civic owner i am srry to say, sux about ur glass, i have a crack in mine, mazda wont do a thing, i already asked, u have to go to a repair shop for it, g'luck

yeah I know. I got carried away after reading the MazdaSlow post earlier today. Before I bought the Speed one of my top three choices was a beautiful pearl white 2000 prelude.

I just want to thank all of you for your advice and sympathy.

AGR: no way im gonna move to Las Cruces man i dont like it there.

I've been calling around for price estimates, and cheapest I found was about $300 for installation and all. But as soon as i mentioned the built in antenna, the guy said he doesnt have that, just for the regular protege. I called Mazda and they told me that they dont do glass, so they refered me to a number that only had regular proteges windows, no antenna. They'll install for about $450, for everything and they'll even go to my house/work/or where ever the car will be for a coulple of hours, which is cool but no antenna and to much. When I asked my dealer if they could do anything whatsoever.........they said "No." As most of you knew/predicted. Im i gonna have to go higher in the mazda ladder just to find an estimate? I cant find that freaking window. Again thanks to everyone
