Question on sizing of other Mazda rims for an extra Set of Rims for Winter Tires
I just picked up my 2007 Speed3 which with the stock tire/wheel combo (215/45 Bridgestone Potenza summer performance tires on 18x7 - 52.5mm offset wheels). I drive back to the midwest every Xmas and want to have a set of Winter Tires/Rims to use during the winter season.
Someone gave me a set of 18x7.5 - 50mm offset wheels that came stock on her CX-7. Bridgestone makes a winter "Blizzak" tire in the 215/45 size. The mounted tire diameter, section width, and tread width of the Blizzak are all listed on the Bridestone site as slightly less than the stock Potenza tire. I don't think I should have any problems running these wheels/tires on my un-modified stock Speed3.
Does anyone have any idea if the extra 1/2" of rim width with just the 2.5mm reduction in offset will cause any clearance or performance problems?
