External Light Bar on CX-5?

New member here,

Curious if anyone has added external LED lightbars, aux lights to a Mazda CX-5 (mine is a 2019 Grand Touring Reserve). I searched the forum and looks like the best setup is with a lightbar on the front rack bar. Anyone have a picture of one?

Thanks in advance,

Paul aka "HotelZulu"

This was a feature on the Mazda 6 for a time. Search "Mazda 6 front light bar".

But I believe unless it's OEM, it's tacky.

That said, even some OEMs are tacky.

Are you talking about the kind of light bar that I see on pick-up trucks all the time, and blinds everybody "tremendously" ? 😎

I landed on this for mine. Diode Dynamics yellow fog lights with a good cut off. I cut out the cross bars on the air dam and the mounting is pretty solid.

Where I live there's some crappy roads, wandering livestock, no street lights etc, so yea I'm talking about the kind of light bar that blinds.
:)

Exactly what I am looking for! I think on my CX-5 that's where the intercooler is but those lights are perfect size. Are you running them through a relay?

I tapped into the factory fog light harness on each side and bought the OEM stalk which has the fog light option. Haven’t had any issues yet.

For the diode dynamics they have different beam patterns. I got fog which just throws right in front. You would want driving or spot pattern for country driving.

What did you mount the pods to? Do they shake up and down at all?

THAT kind of light bar? Sorry, that is not what I thought you were talking about.

They are mounted directly to the bumper at the bottom of the lights. The brackets on the lights have a wide metal base. I drilled two holes and put a large washer on the inside underneath and they are pretty damn solid. No vibrations I can notice
