Hello, I am a new member recently and have been reading these forums for a few weeks. I purchased a 2001 Protege ES recently to burn around in and it came with Motegi MR7 17x7 +40 rims with Falken 215/40/17 tires which have about 50% life.
I would like to replace the tires or find used 16" rims with tires with something that will give me a little better ride (less go kart-ish). I was thinking of going 195/50/16 or 205/50/16 since I don't think I can run 215/45/17 or similar.
I am looking for some suggestions from members that have more experience fitting tires and wheels to their rides.
Suspension is stock at the moment but I may end up installing lowering springs or strut kit in the future, depending on how the car looks and rides with the different wheel/tire combo.
