Exhaust question

Well I had a check engine light come and i had my car dealership check on it and they said its a oxygen sensor, and also the cat that is attached to the header and they gave me a price of a new header and its like 1100 bucks which is stupid, and a oxygen sensor was like 165 or so i believe, so what should I do,and since i am needing to replace it should I go ahead with a header and then do exhaust back?????,i even was thinking about getting a ,mazdaspeed sport exhaust just really dont know what to do i have 900 bucks or so maybe a little more after i get paid what should i do?

f you don't want to go aftermarket, just get a used exhaust manifold from a
boneyard, they should be pretty easy to source. $1100 is sheer madness IMO.

Which 02 sensor is bad?

The Mazdaspeed "Sport Exhaust" is just an axle-back, but if you are interested

All you need is a new oxygen sensor. You can either get a generic bosch of ebay for $25, or get a repo from napa or something for about $75.

Just get another O2 if that is the problem...why not used...it will be much cheaper...I just sold a used one for $20 shipped...

oh okay is that happened to you before or something? was thinking about doing a cs header back exahust but wasnt sure what to do?

you can use the generic one.....just cut the connector off the old one and splice it onto the the generic one....that way your wiring harness is 100% complete

Yeah well they said if its not the oxygen sensor i will deff have to get new headers and the stock one is $1100 bucks? Iam wanting to get exhaust to so what woul you all suggest that is good?

Scott, before you add more pieces that could add to the problem, go ahead and fix the O2 sensor, once that is done and you know that is the only problem, then worry about the rest...

well thanks to Pedamazdas he is sending me two oxygen sensors tomorrow i hope i can get them soon and before EECMM, and I also got my Rear Racing Beat Sway Bar today just waiting on the endlinks to get here
