Exhaust help. Any1 with 4in tips?

It's time for me to do my exhaust and what i'm thinking is: factory Dp - corksport racepipe (assuming it's 3in) - 3in piping - 2, 5x8 oval magnaflow race series mufflers (3in inlet). but i'm stuck on the size outlet/tip? i don't want to reduce back down to 2.5 and they have 3.5in and 4in tips available on their mufflers. so will 4in work if i remove the chrome fake exhaust shrouds? or will i end up banging it around back there and melt my plastic?

I almost did exactly what your about to do but since Im going different route I didnt do it. I have two 4 inch tips and I dont think they will fit unless you cut plasic part of surrounding on bottom even after removing fake shrouds. 3.5 might not fit either I dont think. Magnaflow has 3 inch and look how close they are to not fitting.

why don't you take a tape measure and go see?

i measured it once i think from top to bottom its was like 3" and from side to side was like 5" ^but what he said is the best way

Thanks guys, I did measure it but I feel like 4in would work it just wouldn't be able to stick out the back very nicely like the factory shrouds so I think ill just have to find my own 3in tips and weld them onto the mufflers myself instead of buying them on the muffler to get the look I want..

3in tips will melt the plastic? would double walled tips help more than the single wall?
