Exhaust Ground Wire?

that is one of the most retarded things ive ever heard. . but your exhaust is already technically grounded through the header/engine block

but there are no electrical properties of an exhaust. . unless i dont know somehting

wow..

EXHAUST GROUNDING SYSTEM: UNIVERSAL (SILVER)

EXHAUST GROUND SYSTEMS
Sun Automobile now offers specialized earthing straps to properly ground your exhaust system to the chassis. base on research and development of the Hyper Ground System, the new exhaust earth is designed to maximize exhaust efficiency.
Benefits
- Increased torque response,
- Reduced static electricity in exhaust
- Reduced vibration noise from exhaust

ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHH thats great.
No really how is it suppose to reduce anything??
Make the torque curve smoother? how my lowering the postively charge exhaust gas atoms thus allowing.....LOL whatever.
Be funny if someone got one, fell down and snagged on some pot hole..

BAHHHHH oh I needed this before I got off work

While I don't believe all these bogus claims, and I wouldn't pay $40 for it, do you guys think having a strap that goes from the chassis of your car to the ground(the road, the earth) could help with the zapping of static electricity when getting out of the car?

I'd hate to say it, but there ARE cases where a exhaust ground wire IS beneficial... One instance is the 3rd gen RX-7. If your ground strap for the exhaust is broken, you'll actually notice a difference in the driveability..... Also, older fuel injected cars will probably see a difference as well... Over time, corosion will cut down on the conductivity of your existing ground points...

This has to be a total joke, right. Based on the P.T. Barnum marketing philosophy, "There's a sucker born every minute."

peepsalot, a ground strap should help prevent static electricity shocks by draining off the static charge to ground.

the new HKS FC has an exhaust ground strap on it. they said that it increased the throttle response and smoothend out accelleration just a little.

So.. what are the HP/TQ gains on this?

Will this fit on a 2002 Protege 5?

(laugh) (laugh) (chair)

Is it a strap that goes from the exhaust and drags on the street(the physical ground), or a strap that connects the exhaust to the frame(electrical ground) of the car.

Hmm, I'm actually starting to believe this may have some benefit. Static electricity could possibly build up in the exhaust I guess. And electrical charges can certainly affect airflow(think ionic breeze).
At first I was thinking, hey the exhaust is connected to the engine, so it is grounded already. But there are gaskets in a couple places that could be insulating it, right?

I still wouldn't pay $40 for it though.

If you want it, get two of these for a quarter of the price.

(minimum 50 pieces) GB anyone? I bet it would be damn cheap(a few bucks each) buying 50 at a time. Hell I wouldn't mind spending 10 bucks for a possible gain, however small it may be. Think of it as buying a couple lotto tickets, haha.
