Exhaust bolts keep falling out...

So the Thunder V2 exhaust manifold does not come with it's own studs, it just has holes where you have to provide your own nuts and bolts. Basically my problem is that the nuts keep coming off of the bolts which of course causes massive exhaust leaks. It's already happened to me once before, so last time I replaced all the nuts/bolts/washers and used loctite when I reinstalled everything. Obviously it wasn't enough because on Wednesday it happened again. In rapid succession I had 3 nuts fall off of the flange bolts which means the loctite wasn't enough, and now my turbo is held up by just one bolt and nut. How the **** can I stop this from happening? I'm tired of having to remove the entire manifold and turbo just to tighten 4 ******* bolts...

I used a nut a stud combo the nuts had some some gripping spike rings on them been money so far. mine came off before cuased the mani to warp. I found mine at Ace hardware.

Lock washers, Red Loctite and a lil arm strength should get the job done, but how well does the hardware fit the holes? You could always tap threads in the holes and install some good studs...

double nut them !! when i installed my thunder exhaust manifold it also came w/no bolts-studs. went to home depot and bought 4 stainless steel bolts and 8 nuts. 2 years later and never a problem

Move up to ARP, they never failed me on my DSM's. Retap the threads to make sure they are clean and make sure the threads go all the way through or at least til it bottoms out. Loc-tite never worked for me on something as hot as a turbo, but some have had good to say about it.

Why would ARP hold better than my grade 10 bolts though? They aren't stretching or warping or anything. And yeah the red loctite didn't do anything for me since the bolts came off again today while I was autocrossing. I tightened the hell out of the nuts and bolts, used red loctite, and put lock washers on both sides. Everything still came off.

I was having the same issues except I was either loosing the mani to turbo or the turbo to S pipe. What a pain!!! Red locktite, lock washers and a good elbow grease worked fine for me as well. my plan was to drill a small hole through the stud after the nut on each of them then run a strong wire as thick or strong as a good paper clip and connect all the bolts on the s pipe then turbo. That way they can't back out any more. But I never needed to go that far.
