Exhaust advice for my buddy

I've got a business acquaintance who has a '91 miata. Let me start by saying he is NOT a car guy. Anyhow, he called me today and asked if I knew of a good exhaust for about $200. I can likely talk him into $300-$350 if it includes shipping. He was also asking about intake, but I told him that it would mostly just change the sound more than anything...

Should I just tell him to order an OEM style replacement form NAPA for $100-200... or talk him into something better/more costly?

I know nothing about NA's... suggestions please?

Borla has a lot of good feedback, but $$. For $200, not a lot of options.

The full Jackson Racing setup sounds fantastic on a 1.6L. He'll spend more than $200 for that!

The most bang for your buck is to replace from the cat back. Supposedly replacing the stock muffler is worth 5 - 10 hp.

Jason ran a OBX one from eBay on his STS2 car and liked it.

Got a borla on mine and is very deep. Sounds almost like a Musle car. Its great when you roll up to someone with that deep tone and they expext to see a Charger or something, Then there eyes just open wide as can be when its the little miata.

Racing Beat is worth checking out. Reasonable price, a little louder than stock Cobalt makes a Miata exhaust now, too. A '91 may require the mid-pipe as well as the catback.
