ETS Polished

Hey PaPa, did Mark send you the new one for an exchange or did you pay for it? I was detailing the engine yesterday and found my front tab broken off and the left one getting ready to on the SU TMIC. I am sending it back today and Mark said he would fix it.

He didn't offer to fix my other one, I would have probably taken him up on that. I liked my SU. There was some money difference, but I can't find my invoice right now. I also ordered some other stuff at the same time. So, I don't recall what the difference was.
I'll keep looking.
I'm just happy to get one installed. I was about 2 months with the stocker again. ugh

how does the polish finish affect heatsoak. I know my vlave cover felt hotter with a polished finish.

Gee, that's a question for someone in a physics lab. I would think that aluminum would transfer heat at the same rate regardless of the finish. However, if it was subjected to sunlight, I would say the polished one would reflect heat while a darker finish would absorb heat. My 2 cents...does that make sense?

Was just looking under my hood and this thread came to mind as I was looking at the stock cold-side tube. Not the silicone, or rubber if you're still stock, but the metal pipe that the bypass valve screws on to. I would imagine you could do the same kind of polish job to that as well. SU sells a polished one for a couple hundred bucks. Has anyone tried?

I think you could do it yourself. Just follow the same procedure. I just may have to give it a try, when I get some time. It sure would look nice polished and the price would be right.
