ok it looks like essential speed is saying that if I get this stage 3 fmu kit that I will be pushing 250whp with 298 ft-lbs of torque. Now what the kit consists of is their own o2 controller kit to trick the ecu to stay into closed loop and be able to accept the vortech fmu pressures. Now he is saying at 12psi the car they put this kit on dynoed at 250 whp and 298 ft-lbs of torque does this sound right? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

That's pretty damn impressive. I guess it could be right if the turbo is a decent size...T3 is probably what they are using. What are they charging for the stage 3?

i'm thinking... one part of my head says that it's possible... but i donno. that's a pretty big gain... there has to be something else in there that is making those kinda numbers happen. i HIGHLY doubt that the turbo was upgraded... maybe we could get someone from essential speed over here and prove the doubters wrong... i would really like that. if that were to happen and he were to prove all the doubters wrong, i'de go with essential speed.

if you guys are looking for big hp you should check out racingmazda.com. they have a stage 3 block and head that can support 30 psi on a t72 turbo. they say it can handle 700 hp. but its a little pricy, 3300 dollers for the block and 3500 for the head. but it looks good.

good luck

You really think out T25 can make those numbers at 12 psi? That's got to be some damn great tuning.

the guy has 3" full turbo back exhaust, fmic, fcd, cai and then the stage 3 fmu kit and says he dynoed at 250whp 298 ft-lbs of torque go to their website and look up customers rides its like the 5 or 6 one down its a silver speed with a stock turbo

Guys, a T25 when properly tuned is good for more power than most of the members on this board will ever realistically use daily.

THANK YOU GOD!!!! Finally someone sees that the MSP turbo is not a pile.

what im wondering is how can they get more hp out of the car without sacrificing lean afr's? Because I know if you just go out to your car turn the boost up to 12psi and you have full turbo back, fmic, cai you are not going to pull 250whp on a dyno so how are these guys pulling those numbers w/12psi running what he calls safer fuel than stock ratios without advancing timing I just dont get it, it just sounds impossible. Can somebody explain how they are getting these whp #'s and also pulling 298 lb-ft of touque

I sure as hell hope they are going to run forged internals at the very least if they are making those #s. With nearly 300tq, I'd change out the axles & the clutch too. Tranny should be fine as long as you don't drive like a monkey.

Yeah seriously. I honestly don't think our tranny is as strong as people say it is. I was talking to the guy who owns the place where I work, and he was the crew cheif for one of the tripoint cars in the speed world challenge. He was saying they'd break trannies like it was their job. Of course, they're driving the cars much harder, but they only had like ~250 hp I think.

A major part of the kit is an FMU (fuel management unit). It raises the fuel pressure for each pound of boost. That's how they can do it without worrying about air/fuel ratios.

250hp? oh, that must be in canadian hp...

j/p,.... it is quite possible that a T3 sized turbo can make 250 at 12psi (even in Canada) ;)

Those numbers were done on the EssentialSpeed Stages 1, 2, and the 3(fmu & o2 modifier)

Add the midpipe and i think they saw about 280ish

He is just now finishing up his full 3" turboback, as well as a direct gt28r or gt28rs swap

Not sure on that...I did read that one thread where some guy with a turbo 323 ran like low 10s on the stock tranny (everything else was modified though). I still think that as long as you don't dump your clutch, race with slicks (that guy who ran 13.7 in his MSP had drag radials, so no need for full slicks), or slam the gears the stock tranny will be fine for the power that 95% of the people on here will make.
