ES Front, Whatcha Think?

Its gonna cost me too much money (that I dont have(college student)) and too much time to wait to get this Wings West front bumper painted. I dont have my stock front bumper anymore and I got sick of the stock kit. So I am going to go with an ES Front Bumper! Now the guy that said why didnt I just get an ES if I wanted the ES front. I never thought I wanted the ES Front until now, and I love my hatchback/wagon. I dont want a sedan. I thought moving to Lubbock I might be the only P5. Hell no, there are about 20 other P5s up here. So I am going to make my car unique, not only in Lubbock but even back home in Houston. I have never seen a P5 with an ES Front and thats what I am going to go with.

That was a little uncalled for. You asked for opinions, people gave them. You still wanna do it, so yeah, man I think it will look bad. Don't do it just because no one else has. Maybe they haven't because it looks bad. But hey, why even bother asking if you're just gonna call me a dumbass.

Yes I did ask for opinions, but you set yourself up being sarcastic asking me to glue pigeons to it!

No, i didnt tell you to glue pigeons to it. I said, ive never seen that. Meaning just because its never been done doesnt mean it looks good.
..BUT if you really want to do it, i suggest getting the sedan lip to finish it out. That would probably make it look alot better and fit more with the design of the car.

wow, the truth comes out

the whole forum thinks my car is fugly (sad2)

(fu)

lol

I happen to like the look of my car, and I think it would be very cool to see this front end on a wagon... very unique! I have seen some pictures of 323s, etc. from other markets where they didn't have the ginormous fogs (they had similar front to ES but a bit shallower bumper) and I thought it was a nice look. Not quite as agressive as the P5 but still looked good in its own way.

I didnt say that either, it would look bad on a Protege5, i think. I like the sedan, i love dreezas front end.

I need to do a pchop, I think it would look good though

what mods do you have YelloMP5?

Don't some of the euro models come with the sedan frontend? I remember seeing pics.
yep, it's close but not exactly the same

The bumper trade would be almost free except for paint if you traded your re-bars and bumper's with a sedan owner.
Heck, I'd do the trade if I felt like doing exterior mods.

The sedan bumper looks 1000x better with the OEM lip.

I'd say go for the 03.5 MSP bumper instead. Aren't a lot of those around either. And with a little work, you can keep the stock foggies too 8-)

there was a reason why the p5 didnt have the es front bumper. it dosent match the car
No actually back in Japan, where the car was designed, they had the normal Familia Wagon and then they had the Sport20. We got the Sport20(Protege5), but back in Japan they still have the normal Familia Wagon with the ES Front.

Tein S-Tech Spring, 2.25" Catback Exhaust w/ a Mazdaspeed Axleback(I love the sound this combination gives off), Intake, Alpine Head Unit and Alpine all 4 dr speakers. In the process of looking for headers, test-pipe and a 75-shot of nitrous.

I hope that never is used.

Goodluck on the swap, like others have said; make sure you swap grilles, bumpers, fender wells, underbody trays and bumper reinforcment. The ES bumper will be higher than the sideskirts, so you'll need a lip to even it out.
