92 pearl metallic dark blue eunos
hi all, im new here, anyways i own a 92 silverstone metallic miata or as i like to refer to it, eunos roadster. anyways i recently picked up a erebuni shogun body kit and the erebuni carbon fiber hood. when i went to get it installed the kit went on okay and is nice but the hood doesnt fit. the engine valve cover actually is in the way of where the hood dips down. i was just wondering if anyone has purchased this hood and installed it and if they trimmed the hood to fit or swapped out the valve cover for a different one(i heard you can do this). anyways any info would be much appreciated and once i get the kit fully installed and painted ill post some sweet pics. :)

welcome to the forum... yeah, pics would help so we all know what is happening exactly... ( I havent got a miata or a erebuni CF hood, but we still might be able to help regardless)

you may have to trim it.. As far as valve cover, I believe the swaps only go for the 1.8l motor, not the 1.6l you have..

yeah, every once in awhile, I post something serious :p Sometimes I even sound like I know what i'm saying (evil)

maybe someone else here can validate this info, but I learned that the true carbon fiber hoods for miatae actually were a tad bit heavier than stock because the aluminum stock hood is so light in the first place.

So unless you are just going for the look, I'd say screw it and leave it stock. :)

not sure, it is very light though i was surprised. saddly though i still havent come up with a viable solution so i might just end up picking up one of the extraction hoods on flyinmiata.com or just leave my stock one on (it looks fine and has lighted washers on it anyways hehe). (deadhorse

...and right you are.

I think that's for the cheap hoods with the fiberglass skeloton..

This sounds like a great idea. It combines what i *think* you are going for (modded look) and function. Very viable function as well for a turbo miata.

I WISH they had a heat extraction hood for my RX-8. It would really help her to minimize the overheating problem. :(

ok :p

Either way, i can't afford one. I'm gonna take a hacksaw to mine to make it an extraction hood for the v-mount.. If I ever get around to it..
