EPB maintenance mode

I've never had a vehicle with an EPB and am going to lubricate caliper slide pins when I rotate tires. Do I need to put EPB in maintenance mode to do this? Thanks

You don't need to for just the pins, but I did it anyway, and would recommend that every DIYer do so at least once before the actual need arises. It's nice to be able to do this for the first time leisurely, basically just giving it a dry run.

I just removed one bolt from the caliper and was able to lube the pin without entering the EPB maintenance mode.
