engine swap

I am just throwing this out there... but asuming that money was not an issue could you swap an rx-7/8 engine into an 05 miata... or would the gyro forces rip the car apart??

It's possible, but not really worth the cost vs. effort, from what I have looked up.

Nope, not worth the extra work. more of a cool factor. Unless it's been 'built' with a turbo. otherwise build up the piston engine, throw soem F/I on it, and drive happy.

yes it can a 13b or what nto was stuffed in one! i cant rmemeber what magazine it was, i think import tuner aobut 2 years ago, it was blakc i think. but no turbo, and it has been done. well it was like a 90-97 model but it woudl proably still go fo rit in a 05

i'm pretty sure you could stuff a 13b or 20b into the miata, but question of the matter really is...will you be able to maintain the 2 or 3 rotor engines. and in all reality, the ls1 has almost similar weight to a 13b.

it was a black one with a 13b built by PJ Bonafacio, the paint shop guy, and i think it was in import tuner. it was a nasty car

i wanna stick a sr20det and a f20c into one of these. i've also heard that a couple of people are sticking in 4age engines [from toyota corollas] into their miatas.

i dunno some people do it lol. as for sr20det, there's only 1 miata that's known to have the swap. maybe 2-3 f20c's. that's the money right there, f20c swap into a miata.

There's a guy from Florida that had a 13b swap done. The company that did the swap was going to market a kit... can't find the link now...
It swap was into a 99. Looked cool....

yeah i saw the 99 with a 13b in it at the meet in melbourne a few months ago pretty nifty looking and sounding. every once in a while i see it on the road. i dont remember if he is from around the orlando area or if he just drives thru sometimes.

yep, 302 small block, www.v8miata.com runs 12 seconds onstock motor... to much trq thouh, u barly have a 1st gear, but this thing can take out lambos at the tracks..
