Engine sounds after driving

Has anyone noticed a high pitched sound (almost metallic) coming from the engine area after driving? I mostly notice this when my hood is open.

like a pinging after you turned the car off? If so it's just the sound of everything cooling off. Metal makes noise when it does that.

I get a high-pitched electrical whine every time I shut the car down. Almost sounds like the headlight adjustment motors. This was discussed a little while go, but I can't remember what it was that was going through its shut down cycle. It's normal so no worries...

It's the throttle body motor (PWM drive).

Or it could be the motor for the fan, mine does that if the ambient temperature is high.
