Engine Problem 2.0L

It was -15C this morning...After approx 15 minutes driving (10 of them were in traffic)...my engine started to play games on me!

I have an Automatic Transmission Protege 5 (ok ok girlifried doesn't drive standard ) and when driving at 50KM/Hr, my engine speed was jumping between 1800 and 2500 RPMS.

This lasted for 10 minutes and then the problem disapeared??? During these 10 minutes I checked the Idle and it was OK. The problem was that the engine would not go higher than 2500RMPS

The dealer tells me he never saw this problem...Can anyone help me??

I dunno, sounds weird... but if you were keepin constant speed and yer rpms were jumpin round, could be cpl of things... but maybe you have a lil tranny slip?! -check fluid... (you'd be able to tell for sure with a 5spd) OR, because of air temp, intake sensors could be playin with ya?! -hard to say without seein it...

It sounds like your clutch was so cold it was slipping and grabbing. Mine does the same in cold weather.
