I scaned my check engine light with my AP and it said i had an engine overboosting condition.. What exactly does this mean and what damage can come from it?
Thanks

im pretty sure it means your spiking way to high, you have a boost gauge? or use the AP to log your PSI levels

Both.. My boost gauge will read around 19 or 20 psi at full throttle. The AP is around the same..
Did i cause any damage to the car or is it just warning me that i will?

Your car has boost cut protection but it can only react so quickly. You should put a cat in your TBE. I believe the Cobb maps call for a catted DP. You should be using what Cobb calls for in the map notes.

I know.. I'm Either putting a cat. in or getting a custom tune. What way would be cheapest and most effective do you think?

i'd say the cat would be the best solution to this. Eventually you are going to have to get the sniffer test and no cat=fail. So you might as well take of it now instead of paying for the custom tune AND the cat.

You can buy a good SS metal substrate high flow cat like Cobb and the other aftermarket companies use and just get it welded in where your second cat would normally go (or in your test pipe?).

If you are getting overboost with the no cat like above put a cat back in. This is some thing that is not always a thing that a tuner can "tune out". It is a mechanical problem not a tune problem.
