Engine oil recomendation (10W/30 vs 5W/30)

Hi all,

I'm planning to switch to synthetic oil for my P5 (yr 2002). I've been asking people around for the recommended weight for the engine oil and I'm not getting a clear answer from anyone. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction - 10W/30 or 5W/30.

The manual doesn't really help much coz it tells me both will work.

Anyone?

if its hot use 10W/30 if its cold use 5W/30
