engine misses when idling...

could this be as a result of using cheap gas when it usually gets the same all the time?

Someone said it could be water in the gas :S

The tank has already been fully emptied and refilled with the problem still there.

it sounds like its going to choke but idling where it normally does...it sounds like a "car fart" lol...whatever that is!

and its not timed its just every 3 to 5 or 6 seconds when I come to a stop after 5 mins of driving or so

EGR valve was cleaned last summer, plugs changed around the same time and it only started doing this before the rad went on it 2 weeks ago

02 p5 with 240,000 kms on it and now it seems its one thing after another. Leaky caliper, power steering is slowly losing fluid....rust is starting to appear

lemon?????????????????????????

i had the same problem. only i described it as a cough.

does it look like that?
pull your spark plug wires. and coil packs. if they smell burnt replace them.

i replaced everything except my cylinder 3 spark plug wire. ive been dealing with this misfire at idle for about 3 to 4 months now.

i replaced the the cylinder3 wire on friday and it runs like a dream now.

if you dont replace anything, youll notice the miss gets more radical and extreme and constant the longer you drive for.

that seems quite normal actually. what you have is what mine did "normally"
now it dips down a lil bit more than that, almost cutting out but then keeps idling

i'm going to shoot my own lil video and post it later on today

i will check the plugs on the weekend

and yes it has had its regular maintenance, plugs, oil changes, egr cleaning, new 02 sensors etc. its all the lil extras around it that build up if you dont take care of them immediately

even with all these issues, I'm still getting 600 kms on a full tank (highway) so I'm not complaining about that =)

you might want to clean the IAC (idle air control valve) on top of the throttle body. its held there by 2 t25 torx bits.

just hit the plunger bit with some brakekleen or something. youll notice it will be much smoother while idling...

and that vid of what i posted is not normal. its a misfire. its noticeable and very irriating. so definiately check ur ignition system

Had a similar problem with my old Escort GT (1.8 L Mazda motor) I would start the car up cold, it would run fine but then when it would warm up a bit, it just didn't want to run right or idol. The fix, new spark plugs and wires. I realized that even when the car was cold it misfired, just not as noticeable.

iac, egr and throttle body were all cleaned last summer

I think it was the bad gas cuz it does not hiccup anymore =)
