No response yet. One of my screws came off and yah... I need to order a new one. It was the screw holding the damper to the bracket under the strut tower bar.

L8R, it sucks that your having to go through all this B.S. with that damper. I'm glad that I got my money back on that thing. Seems like a total nightmare.

BYOHNSPEED: You say you got yours on e-bay, would you mind posting a link to something similar? Thanks, can't search right now at work.

just look under engine dampers. i got one for the wifes civic so i can use it as a mockup for mine. then i will buy another. i am going to make my brackets similar to the others but i have an extra bracket that goes around the cam gear housing and bolts fast to keep it from bending.

Well Weapon R emailed me today and they have a new bracket for me for the motor mount: (Pictures from Weapon R)

I have to find out about the other issue with the mount bending. I have to either:
send back my bracket and get my new bracket sent to me
or
they will send me the new bracket and then I send them my old bracket.

I think I'll go with choice #2

Peace

The bottom of it looks much cleaner as well. Did you talk to them about the damper being solid? If so, what are they going to do about that?

the damper is not solid. he never took it all the way apart.

I would like to see pics of it fully taken apart then. I'm curious as to the bushing setup of his vs. say yours.

i'm sure its the same setup. the 2 dampers (his and mine) look the same. his most likely has the polyurithene bushings in it. they are very stiff and cant be moved by hand. i put the rubber ones in mine. still cant move it but i know they are softer.

Correct, it is dampened with a delron bushing. You only need to take one side out to see that though. You can see that bushing in the pics on the first page.

This is chris from Weapon-R. I would just like to clear and confusion on what our engine damper is. First off i would like to apologize about the bracket issue of it bending. We addressed it once it came to our attention. If any one here has a bracket that is bending we can gladly exchange it for a new one. Please contact me to the proper procedure on how to take care of the exchange.

The damper itself contains rubber bushings inside of the damper. The damper is designed to assist the existing engine mounts. The damper gives the motor more stability. In between shifts your motor will rock back and forth from sudden change of gears, with the damper it helps with that shifting of the motor and gives you better precise shifting. The damper is adjustable. On one end of the damper the eye bolt can be lengthened or shortened. Adjusting the damper longer will put preload on the motor. shortening it will put less preload and more motor movement occurs. So it is really up to you on how much preload you want. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me. chris.wanstrath@weapon-r.com

the only thing you can see on the first page, is the white stopper for the bushing. he never took the bushing side apart.

Thanks Chris for coming on forums and clearing this issue up. I emailed you back with my response also. Yesterday I was looking at the damper and saw that you could infact unscrew it, but I didnt want to make the attempt to for the fear of ruining/scratching it. The product has since been removed from my car and I'll await your new bracket. Thanks again for helping the protege community, especially me.

Chris

I had ordered a number of these for stock for a buy I was doing.... I just received the new (updated) brackets yesterday....

All kits I will be selling (still at the sale price) will come with the new brackets.
