Does anyone have this info? I just spent that last two hours trying to get an accurate weight for the engine block and related components. I really hope I'm just not searching properly as I find it hard to believe that in all these years and all the thousands of dollars people have dumped into these thing that nobody has taken to the time to weigh their stock components and post their findings one way or another.

Any info is appreciated!

What state of assembly?

The bare block is maybe 100lb. I could lift it without much trouble. Fully assembled with manifolds and all accessories, you are probably at around 300-350lb.

ive got my engine on an engine crane right now, ill be going outside to work soon so i can stick a weight dyno on it and check the weight with all but the exhaust manifold on it. the tranny will be off this weekend maybe so i can fit the block to my engine rotisserie so if you want another weight check without the trans just let me know.. ill post the mostly assembled weight later, lunchtime maybe

the engine without exhaust manifold and turbo but with transmission and all other accessories weighs just over 450lbs.

its not 300-350 but still.. not too shabby!

Ah, in my post I meant motor alone no trans, so I was just a bit on the low side... heh

But that sounds about right for the motor with the trans. Still, good to have confirmation!

The assembled head is around 100 lbs, the bare block is around 100 lbs, the crank is around 40 lbs, the cams are around 20 lbs. Add in around 50 lbs for the bearing support, oil pan, valve cover, pistons, oil pump and such.

I took the block to ship and on a small pallet it weighed 175. That's with flywheel and pullies attached and all internals
