engine bay clean up ideas

...

In spiced msp's engine bay pic how did you work with your emissions canister? Did you keep your gas tank breather hose and put a mini filter on the other nipple? And just eliminate the sensor and hose that goes to the intake?

here

Here is the pic, I circled what I was talking about.

No he is asking how "Spiced" was able to pass emmisiions testing without the Evaporation Recovery System (The charcoal canister etc..)

Ya what Brian said, I know here in Manitoba Canada there isnt anything to worry about for emissions testing. So if I can completely delete it? What would I do with the line coming from the gas tank. Would it hurt anything if I just capped the port off the intake that the canister plugs into?

Circuit and Spiced MSP have some really nice looking bays! Kudos :)

sorry guys, but that's not my engine bay..lol. It's nice as hell though. I just posted the pic because I have it as my desktop background. That belongs to someone with a p5. I don't know if they are on the forum, but they are on the car domain website.

That line goes into a canister in the rear.. It does not actually have fuel in it so you can do whatever you like to it.

Personally, when I re-ran my fuel lines I removed all of the s***.

So did you rip that line going into the bay from the canister out back right out? Or just cap it off? My car should run fine without all that junk?

so brian, how did you get rid of your canister and did it have any negative effects? i capped it once, and now a lot of times when i fill up my gas at any station, it will only pump for a few gallons then stop like it was full. you think thats related?

Ahem...get a friend with a p5, switch VINS and license. Pass emissions...swap back. Not that I would ever condone such things......ever.

My plan to pass emissions if I ever need to is to buy a used White 2002 P5 and Swap out the tag on the dash... Get the beater to pass.. then swap back on to the MP5T

I have removed the entire system.

the only thing going in or out of the tank is Fuel lines..

The breather is independent and still works like it should.

i been wanting to find out if i could remove that ugly canister lol. now its good to know i can just remove it and take off the line with nothing else needed to be done. more engine bay cleaning FTW

What happens with the sensor ? Gets capped off along with line coming from talk and the one from the intake mani ?

I removed the canister tonight capped the port on the manifold before the TB. Found some sensors I'm not really sure what they are or their purpose. I took a few pics let me know what's the best way to hide or if I can eliminate.

Forgot to mention the sensors are vacuum operated, they connect to each other and one goes to the passenger underside of the intake manifold

I was ablt to take them out because I have a standalone so I will not Trigger a CEL.. If you take them out, you will blow a ton of codes.

Another question is what has everyone used in the past for rerouting and replacing brake lines, fuel lines and power steering lines? Resources and feedback please! Thanks!
