End of my rope. Re: Greddy profec b spec 2

I just installed a Greddy profce B spec 2 EBC in my car and i am having some issues with it. No matter what i do i get surging.

Firstly i know the unit works properly as i just removed it from my 300zx.

Secondly i know how to tune the unit (used it for the past 4yrs).

I have triple checked all my connections and done a leak test.

I have double checked all the electrical connections.

The stock solenoid is capped (both ports) as well as the nipple on the intake.

The greddy unit is connected using the `Com` and `NO` ports and NC is open

The Greddy line are connected to the compressor housing and actuator as per the directions with the second actuator nipple capped.

The boost signal for the unit is spliced into the brake booster line. (I have also tried the BPV line with the same result).

Is there something i am missing here? Or that I am doing incorrectly?

I have heard a lot of different suggestions about getting a bung installed on the intercooler, or an ATP silicone boost tap. Use this line or don`t use that one.

I`m looking for someone that has this unit installed and working in their car that would be willing to snap a few quick pics so that i can verify my setup. In the end I`m going to do a full write up on the full installation and tuning of the profec b 2 unit. I had absolutely zero problems with this unit on my 300zx and I`m a little taken back at how difficult it has been on my MS3.

Thank you for any help in advance.

David.

No direct help, but this is one of the most frustrating cars I have ever dealt with as far as boost control. I've tried 2 different boost controllers now, and I can't get any sort of consistency and am plagued by boost spikes. I haven't heard of any reliable means of controlling the boost, other than the stock system.

this may help you as well > http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2974171/16 the guy tried to setup a boost controller (albeit manual) and came to the conclusion that

The car works perfectly now!!! No more surging or hiccupping through the boost to vacuum condition; I also get no more backfires or popping in the exhaust. Absolutely, positively, the MBC should not be installed inline with the BPV/BOV. The car runs perfectly...smooth like stock!!!

I highly recommend anyone running a MBC or EBC to run their install with a quick tap. You will not regret it!!

Eh, I have mine that way and it still is inconsistent and I get surge. So it's not a solution 100% of the time.

I have the same problem with myn...if i run it over stock boost control settings it stutters up high. Its so annoying. Sometimes it will work fine and other it will not. I have tried adding a nipple elsewhere in the line as well and to no avail. It is just something i have noticed with the greddy unit and i have spoke with greddy...all they say is send it to us and we will test it.
