Emissions Recall

I was looking at the mazdausa.com website and noticed that a new recall was posted on 27 Sept 07 for owners. Anybody else notice this? Is this the same recall of when the first 2006 speeds came out? The recall is for Mil Illumination (dtc P2006) voluntary emissions recall.

i actually just got two recall notices today in the mail.

one for the above mentioned recall, and one for a Fuel Trim something or other issue that doesn't get picked up by the OBD scanner. I'm planning on taking mine in, just to get it done. I will report back any changes.

hmm i haavent gotten any notices yet but i havent been home today yet so maybe they came in the mail today... very interesting though.

Yup, just got mine in the mail today too... for both recalls. The letter also said something about a loaner car being available, so I'm going to ask them to see if the clutch TSB applies to my car as well. Sick of stalling the darn thing.

I logged into the site and found the following related to my VIN (2006 MS6)

  • Mil Illumination (dtc P2006) Voluntary Emission Recall
  • Obd-ii Compliance Voluntary Emission Recal
I'm going to ask about it tomorrow morning when I stop by for my oil change.

well i finally got home and i too had both recalls in the letter... what would happen if we dont go to the dealership and get them done. my car isnt stock.. for one i dont want the tech guys ******* around with my car and two i dont trust them. and if its just an emissions recall its not a big thing. im guessing we will just pollute the air more.

yeah only in california..and to add to that i got my truck to pass inspection here in RI and well lets just say i know someone since its a piece of crap hahaha.

I got mine too. Reprogram the PCM (again?), the other for swirl shutter valve.

I am all for this car being smoother and more Consistant...If this reflash does just that then I will get it done.

Dropped my car off this morning. Both recalls are being addressed and they said it would be ready in a few hours. I got a loaner since I had to go to work.

Thanks!

Just another reminder for those in CA, VT, or MA: Make sure you get a proof-of-recall certificate and stick it in your glove box so you have it the next time you go to register your car. You won't be able to register it w/o that certificate!

I am a little wary of having the recall performed. I wasnt particularly happy with the reflash performed as a result of the loss of power recall. I am just waiting to hear people say that the car runs totally different now and we have been robbed of some performance.

Hope to hear back from you guys getting it done and reporting that all is well.

just got the letters for this in the mail. car was already in the shop getting the turbo smoking issue resolved, and the tsb clutch so i figured might as well have them fix this problem right away. Holiday automotive in wisconsin is the best dealership i have ever worked with.

I already had the car in for the smoke problem and the clutch and I know they did a flash, but I have to check to see if I need to take it back for these.
