Electrical Issue... I think...

2005 Mazda 3 2.3 4dr
I have a 2005 mazda 3. the low beams stopped working suddenly, yet the high beams work fine. i checked the bulbs, the fuses, and relays. for some reason there is no voltage going out to the wiring kits for the low beams. i took it to a repair shop and they couldnt figure it out. googling led me to believe it was the PJB or passenger junction box, as I guess they're known to have issues. Is there any way I can be certain, as I'd rather not pay the dealer $100/hr if all he's going to do is jiggle the wires.

Thanks,
Dave

Re::

So i found the part number for the PJB (BN8B66730G) and found it on ebay for $49. The thing is, i have also noticed that when i switch the headlights between high and low beams, i hear an audible 'click' coming from the main engine compartment fuse box. so i'm wondering if it's perhaps one of those fuses or relays, and if so can i just pop-and-swap to fix it, or is there something special i should know before doing that.

So i'm posting this just in case later on someone googles around to try and solve this same problem, here's how i finally got it fixed.

After noticing I had voltage going to one headlight and not the other, i changed both bulbs and found that both had burnt out. Why they both burnt simultaneously, who knows. But that fixed ONE headlight. I checked and still wasnt getting voltage to the other, so i rechecked fuses, relays, and everything in between. come to find out that on my PJB one fuse (although seated completely) wasn't making a good contact. I pulled out the connector for it and raised it up a bit so it makes a better contact. Now they're both working fine. This was a whole lot of work for something so simple, so I hope this thread helps someone else later on. Also, thanks for nothing other people on this forum. 3 days and 3 posts and I haven't had a single reply :P
