I have had these eibachs on my p5 for less than 5,000miles and they feel a bit soft.. I liked how they were when I first put them on.. Anyone know what kinda springs i should get that will give me a stiff ride and lower about 1.5 -1.75??? Also, I would be willing to trade someone for stiffer springs or sell mine... THanks!!!

maybe your struts are about to give out. the first evidence of struts going south is that the car's handling decreases. good luck and keep us posted.

and to answer your questions, h&r's are known to have a stiffer suspension rate than the eibachs. teins are way soft. the others, i have no clue.

yeah i'm betting it's more likely to be your struts then your springs...springs don't have a tendancy to really change a lot in their life except when first setting themselves...

well its not that my car feels loose or a big diff from the 1st day, but i want my car to feel like a gokart ya know./? What kinda struts are good to use with lowering springs? I think I may save up and get a coilover set up with struts? Anyone have a nice setup they want to share?

for that go-kart feeling, i've heard that a rear sway bar will help tremendously.

eggynatey went from stock suspension to stock with the 21mm rear sway bar and says it handles tons better. then he sprung for JIC coilovers and says it's leaps and bounds better than just the rear bar... so i guess JIC's are the way to go.

when i was in spicy's car, the stock racing beat front and rear sways with racing beat springs and struts made the car feel like a slot car, so yeah... whatever your fancy.

Big AWR sway bar and JIC baby. My car really handles after the addition.:D

According to Eibach tech I talked to a while back, their springs do not get soft, it is your stock struts that's wearing out. Even if you send your Eibach springs back to Eibach and tell them the springs are getting soft, they will test it and still come out as they were produced. If I were in your shoes, I would look for a new struts. :P

Teins are way soft???
I got Tein springs installed today and they are way stiffer than stock springs.

The Teins are only a bit stiffer than the stock P5 springs. And they're actually a tad softer than the stock MP3 springs. So, if stiffer is what you want, then you have to go for the Ground Controls, Skunks (uber stiff from what I've been told), JIC FLT-A2's, or be the first to try out the KW Coilover kit.

well you can either get the mp3/mazdaspeed struts or you can spring for a full coilover system.

after you have that done, get the mazdaspeed sway bars and endlinks.

...All I can say is (wow)
My car handles much better now. The swaybar really helps with the understeer, and if you do a search for "JIC coilovers", they speak for themselves. Rishie's the guy.

The MP3 struts are supposed to be valved a little different than the MSP Struts (MP3 are supposed to be a tad stiffer than the MSP). No one knows for sure though and the struts should run you about $450-$475 new. Not sure what they go for used if you can find them. The swaybar end links for all for should be around $85 from the Mazda dealer. 1 endlink cost me $21 buck, but that was for the front, not sure what the rears cost if any different. Goodluck, hope we're helping out.
