EGR Valve where did it go?

Mazda Protege 1.6 2000 C.E.L. Exhaust Gas Circulation I think it was code PO 402. I need to clean the EGR valve. How can I find it? Is it the hard metal tube that runs from the Exhaust manilfold to the intake manifold? EGR valve in the manifold or is it exposed looking but cannot find?

It's on the intake manifold, to the right, really close to the firewall. It's a little bit under it if I remember correctly. There is a metal tube that runs sort of between the intake manifold and the firewall. Follow that to the right and you'll run right into it.

It is possible to take it off without removing the intake, but removing the intake might actually make it easier.
