ECU data here!! COMPLETE OBD-II Readout

2001 Mazda MP3
I thought I was having issues with my MP3 so I brought it to my sisters BF collision place. We got a chance to use their shiny new diagnostic reader. Heck yeah baby. After doing an intial engine hookup, I realized that the 8th character of my VIN was "7" and the OBD reader only went 1-6. DAMNIT! So i did six, and sure enough, 2.0L engine appeared. YIPPY! :) After that, it told me to go under the dash and plug it in using key 2A and the plugin. I went under the dash with the unit and heres my MP3 data. Interesting finds with the Ignition Advance. As soon as I touched the gas it went to -10(DEG) it only stayed there for a split second (protect engine?). Anyway, heres the readout DATA, as I had NO codes (YAY!)

nice...i use the same scanner myself...i used mine to verify that the 02 modifer worked properly.
 
its cool there is a 'target RPMs' apparently my ground kit isnt making much of a diff with the idle rpm (no big deal :) i dont care)
 
Wow, now we need a non-MP3 data sheet. . .this could tell us something about the MP3 advanced timing? If we only knew how much advance the MP3 really had!

Its the ignition timing that is advanced...And it kicks on the top end. You can see that from the stock dyno comparisons I did over at FP.

Once the link starts working again that is...
 
I want to know how much timing. . .I need a number. . .as in xx degrees over stock! (Where would be nice too, but an amount would help for now.)

Any other 2.0 Protege would work I guess. . .heck even an MSP if we could tell the difference. . .but I'm not sure if that info will tell us. . .don't know. . .I just need to figure out how much timing to take out of the equation right away. . .then tweak from there.

Good info...Not sure why it would advance..as soon as you hit the gas..but hey..i alwayz like more hp off the line!

i want an obd-2 reader. . . .im in the process of researching to build my own. . . .how much interest do you guys thing that will generate if i built kits of those things
 
It starts at about 5000 rpm and goes up from there...Not sure on how much.
