Ebay Tail Lights???

Ebay Tail Lights? / WTB P5 stock tail.

An accident Saturday night left my driver side tail light shattered. The dealership is charging $150 for ONE stock tail light and I figured that I might as well get brand new ones on Ebay for a lesser price. I was wondering if anyone has tried these on their ride and knows if they fit well. I was thinking about these:

As far as the fitting went, it sticks out a bit compared to the original. THere is a gap between the light and the body of the car. I like them, but other people on this forum think its ricey.

Do what you want to. Also, i paid 130 for mine. You might wanna ask pirana if he is still sellin his.

I'd say go for it. Worst case scenerio you are out the $99 plus shipping. One thing to watch out for is how well the lamps are sealed. Sometimes they will leak when it rains or when you are washing them. If this is the case, you may need to seal them up better.

Hey..thanks! I'd figured I'd go with the black ones since I will be doing black headlights eventually. I just think I would be taking it up the ass if I went to the dealership and forked over $150 for one stock tail light.

You might want to wait a while and see if anyone else responds.

When I had my tail broken I was lucky enough to find someone on the board who had an extra one sitting around, and they sent it to me for the price of shipping!

I bought some from Ebay. They aren't sealed perfectly, but well enough. The fitting is fine, but they're thought of as Ricey. I thought my stock ones were BUTT UGLY so I had to do something about it.

I have those...

Mine were sealed well enough, but I was disappointed in the fitment. There is about a finger width gap between the rear fender and the light housing. It was so annoying that I ended up going to Home Depot and buy some black weather stripping to fill in the gap. They look pretty sweet on my black P5 but I have considered putting the stock ones back in numerous times.
Oh, and they are completely plastic if that matters to you at all

I agree, not sure how much they are though... and i'm not sure if you can get them like that for the p5.
