ebay fmic anyone?

just keep an eye out on the F/S section....you can get killer deals sometimes in there but you have to act fast.

Personally, I would save my money for a quality, proven setup. Just don't be surprised if you order this "universal" kit and either A) nothing fits or B) massive work is requred to make things fit.

AGREEED

i baught some "universal" parts from e-bay, and i found that Universal accually means, Universally not able to fit on any car.

I'm with protegerider on this one getting an ebay one just requires a lot of work and time IMO, i have yet seen anyone complain or show any problems with a universal ebay kit FMIC......

im definitely not for buying parts off of ebay.

if your dead set on buying s*** off ebay, then atleast get a proven core (spearco, garrett, bell, etc...) and then get universal pipes off of ebay and make it work.

not everything off of ebay is s***
has anybody ever bought the cxracing intercooler core to compare it to the name brands? no they havent, they assume that the name brands are better just because of the name on it

perrin is a good company is it not? then how did turbolife manage to offer cheaper kits with a bigger core that makes more power? by buying from a no brand company and proving that even if there not known, they still can make quality parts

sorry i wasnt PERFECTLY clear.

a proven core is not just a name brand core, its one that has been tested.

for example, the turbolife core. he tested it with the perrin core.

I have a CXRacing core, I got that core because it's a good core that happens to also be sold on ebay. I think the major concern is pipes and the couplers and the clamps. Most of the universal Kits come with crap thin couplers and crap clamps. Once you upgrade it you might as well have bought a product designed for your ride. a ton of couplers is no good. I bought a Used MAM hard pipes set-up for $200 and got the CXRacing core. By doing that I got all the Pipes designed for the best routing not a s*** load of cheap couplers and cheap clamps for the same price as the s*** ebay kits.
It's your car do what you want but don't get your feelings hurt when the folks on here tell you other wise. If you already have your mind made up and just want confirmation to buy cheap parts....save it!

oh yea i got what you were saying, just putting my POV out there, not trying to start a flame war or anything lol

just because a part makes more power, doesn't mean its better quality.

if you really think a no-name chinese part off ebay is better than a tested and proven part... i can't help you. there are very rare occasions where ebay parts make MORE power but you get what you pay for, and horsepower isn't the only piece of the puzzle.

i agree, however you come off as implying turbolifes kit is a pos.

there hasnt been any longevity testing, however the core has clean welds and comes off as a quality piece. the design is obviously up to par with the perrin core (pressure drop was the same or less). noone has opened the core, however there hasnt been any claims that they leak.

yea ur right, he asked about ebay stuff then when everybody said dont do it the guy that already bought the stuff got mad and defensive lol, i actually got a little defensive, idk why though

and to low_psi im not really understanding what your saying, name one thing that makes more HP but isnt better quality

just trying to see if u can do it, cuz i seriously cant think of anything right now

ahh thought of one, ebay turbo's
some things from ebay are s***, u just have to guess and try to find which ones arent

like piping, idk how someone could **** up metal pipes
intercoolers i can understand but the cx racing cores have had some good reviews in quality from the people who have bought it, ill take my chance with them
if it doesnt work out them ebay is back to selling s***, if it works out great then maybe people will try some other stuff out and see if its s*** or not

c'mon guys. 9 out 10 people posting here are dead right. I have a ebay one myself. Dude...the cutting and modifing needed is so not worth the trouble of saving the extra money. I only got one because it was right after my ss afc along with my whole turbo setup which ran me around 3 grand. With all due respect...800 bucks for a decent intercooler that fits is not that bad at all. Dude if your that freakin broke then maybe you shouldnt be driving a turbo car anyways. Go pick up yourself a nice lil chevy cavalier or something. STOP abusing these fine machines with crap chinese parts because you cant afford to give them what they deserve. Its like dating a super model and taking them to the mcdonalds drive thru. Just saying. Everyone was right save the money....one nice part is better that a whole heap of bad no name chucky cheese ass parts!

i will say that a few people are also right saying the IC cores are ok. Its still just a fitment issue. I ended up swapping for one made for the msp which still utilizes a bumper support bar. While using the ebay setup I had nothing but problems. To many couplers so many places to leak boost pressure not to mention the extra 45 bucks spent on couplers and clamps to make it work. I spent hours cutting and tweaking those pipes and they were still never right. Sloppy.... But thats just me. It drives me nuts if the car aint right...car comes first. I'd sell my mother for an oil change :D
