Ebay CAI Pics

I just put an ebay CAI in on my 2k protege ES and I must say it's worth the money. The car now has a nice and low growel when I smash gas and lets off a light woosh between gears. Easy to install for anyone new to their car's guts.
I had to use the dremel on the inside of the pipe around cuts and welds to remove shavings. It's very important you do the same (use a file if you have to) because you don't want those pieces in your engine. As for the overflow can, just use the included brackets to secure it elsewhere (somewhere out of the way and nice and tight). I know I was confused when it got to that part.
On a side note I knocked out that pos plastic screen on the MAF. Just use the back of some tool and place the piece on the floor so it's level and give it a tap on the back of the plastic screen w/o touching the sensor. Real easy and it will pop right out.
I upgraded the filter and I plan on getting red fittings for it this week. Anyone know where to pick up that breather hose in other colors?

Well since its back from the dead. Anyone have pics of the colored ebay CAI from liveonspeed. I'm going to get the red ones soon.

I'll try and get pics up of mine, its blue though. Its just painted, but the fitment and performance are great. I don't know why anyone who doesn't need the "carb" sticker would buy an Injen.
carb stickers are bs, california is the suck. i mean how can you alter your emissions with an intake, yeah more air = more fuel, but that's only if you floor the damn thing, i mean come on, thank god i've never been stopped for how my car looks... so far... *knock on wood*

Yeah why would an Intake change the cars emissions, or an exhaust? I would say it does but it won't be enough to make you not smog legal in CA. I think after I get my Truck, I'll buy a hybrid though, and thats because of GAS PRICES!!! And I'll be an old fart that doesn't care to be fast, lols I don't care to be fast already, i mean I have a Protege5 after all.PhatTrax said:

The best advice I have is to simply go for it. I see a how-to for an msp in the how-to section. That may help. also, look at pics of those who have installed them for reference as to what goes where. I know for the filter part, the driver's wheel comes off, and you take off the inner wheel well plastic to put it on. My wife installed my SRI with no problem, in about 15 minutes. She has no experience, but wanted to do it. The only difference is your cai goes into the fenderwell.
