E4 Performance heavyweight knob impressions

Do you have an STS and a lighter shifter weight installed? I have the Cobb STS and Cobb Shift Weight, and when I was using the lightweight knob, if was notchy as hell!

Adding the heavyweight knob to my setup really improved the shifting... Maybe if you have the stock shifter and shift weight, it's not as drastic of a change...?

I'm all stock except for the knob right now. I'll be installing a JBarone SSP and solid shift bushings soon.

I just got my replacement knob this past weekend (I originally got one of the black ones that peeled). I'm really impressed by the new powdercoating! I put it on this morning and am going to see how hot it has gotten sitting in the sun all day (high of 90 today). If it's unbearable I'll probably sell it and stick with the factory knob.

It's a keeper! It was in the 90's Monday and today, and both days I was able to grasp and hold the knob after I got in my car after work. It was warm but not at all unpleasant. Color me happy with this purchase.

Glad to hear you pleased with it. Using a sun shade helps to really keep the car knob cool and the interior as well

Very nice write up and great pics. Should be used as an installer guide for the E4 knob. EZ steps when combined with the pictures.

Same here. I've had it in through several full sun 90 degree days, and when I got in the car, the steering wheel was hotter than the knob. (I have the matte black).

took me a while to figure out how to install the E4 knob, but combined with bushings and JBarone's SSP, it makes the car (almost) feel like a s2000 in the shifter dept. !! Two thumbs up!
